(L-R) PMAP President Lydia Lily G. Quintans, FPM, CTRP, and Mynimo.com Marketing Manager, Fatima Dicay, highlight their continued collaboration during the 62nd PMAP Annual Conference in Cebu.
CEBU CITY, Philippines — Against the shimmering backdrop of Cebu’s NUSTAR Resort and Casino, more than a thousand human resource professionals, executives, and business leaders gathered last week for the 62nd Annual Conference of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP). The three-day event, held from October 22 to 24, centered on the theme “UNLEASH” — a call to elevate leadership through purpose, compassion, and courage.
A Gathering of Leaders and Ideas
From the outset, the conference carried an air of optimism and renewal. In her opening remarks, PMAP President Lydia Lily G. Quintans, FPM, CTRP, urged participants to view collaboration not merely as a managerial function, but as a moral imperative in a rapidly changing business landscape.
“The power of leadership,” she said, “lies not in authority, but in our capacity to empower others.”
She was joined by Dr. Roland Suico, AFPM, PMAP Vice President and Annual Conference Chairperson, who outlined the event’s guiding framework — Enrich, Enable, Empower — designed to help organizations “unleash” their people’s potential through empathy-driven and purpose-centered leadership.
Insights, Recognition, and Renewal
Over the following days, the conference unfolded through keynote sessions, fireside chats, and the PMAP Awards Showcase, highlighting innovative approaches to employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational transformation. The discussions ranged from the future of hybrid work to the role of AI in people management — all underscoring a collective effort to redefine what leadership means in the post-pandemic workplace.
The event also served as a vital space for connection, offering HR professionals opportunities to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and strengthen their commitment to people-first management.
A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
Among the event’s sponsors was Mynimo.com, Cebu’s leading job website, which reaffirmed its collaboration with PMAP in advancing local talent development. The partnership, company representatives said, aims to help businesses refine recruitment strategies and expand access to qualified candidates nationwide.
PMAP and Mynimo.com both share a goal to create more opportunities for professionals and help companies grow through better connections.
Cebu as a Hub for Growth and Innovation
This year’s venue carried its own symbolism. Hosting the annual conference in Cebu marked not only PMAP’s continuing reach beyond Metro Manila but also the city’s emergence as a growing hub for innovation and professional development in the Visayas region.
As the conference drew to a close, participants were invited to carry home the essence of UNLEASH: to enrich their teams with purpose, enable growth through collaboration, and empower individuals to lead with empathy and resolve.
