SURVEYOR

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

A surveyor determines property boundaries by taking precise measurements. They provide data for engineering industries, construction projects, and map making that is relevant to their client or employer. A surveyor may prevent legal disputes by updating boundary lines and preparing sites for construction. Surveyors work both indoors and outdoors in fieldwork.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct physical site surveys using a variety of equipment and tools.

  2. Calculate areas of land parcels and easements using mathematics and computer software.      

  3. Prepare sketches and notes, and perform electronic data collection

  4. Measuring property boundaries

  5. Perform topographic mapping and construction staking preparation

  6. Draft line work in AutoCAD from collected survey data

  7. Research and design methods for survey processes

  8. Examine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracy

  9. Build maps, sketches, and charts

  10. Collaborate with engineers and architects on several projects

2. Proficiency in computer software program related activities

3. Possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

4. Ability to recognize opportunities to improve work flow

5. Report on survey results and present findings to clients 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 5 years work related experience as surveyor.

  • Can work with less supervision

  • Can start asap.
