BUILDING ELECTRICIAN

 

Work will consist of plan, alternations, additions and/ or repairs of electrical system, light fixtures, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the commercial, industrial and residential electrical industry

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience as an Electrician

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

  • Two Year Vocational Course in Electrical Technology. Technical Skills and Development Agency (TESDA) certified.

COMPETENCY PROFILE:

  • Have a good working knowledge of the tasks required to perform on all phases of electrical work in accordance with the local and national codes.

  • Interpret applicable codes, standards, regulations, and acts

  • Interpret electrical drawings and specifications.

  • Apply Electrical theory to all aspects of electrical work and electrical installations.

  • Resolve technical challenges including calculations, installation practices and compliance issues.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.

DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install new or modified electrical installations consistent with local and national codes. Plan electrical installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring.

  • Prepare and present sketches showing location of wiring and equipment.

  • Follow diagrams, blueprints and interrupts specifications.

  • Accountable for all equipment, materials and tools.

  • Maintain all work sites clean and in order.

  • Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care of equipment and tools.

  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic willing, equipment, appliance, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tolls and power tools.

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Inspect electrical system, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.

  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, compatibility and safety of system.
