AP ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary:

Responsible for performing a range of accounting and other tasks related to the accounts payable function. This generally includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking, and recording purchase orders, and processing payments. The accounting responsibilities also include reconciling bank statements as well as computing tax payments and returns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage the full cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, 3-way matching and coding, and payment processing.
Review and verify invoices for accuracy, completeness, and authorization.
Communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, payment inquiries, and other account-related issues.
Maintain accurate records of all accounts payable transactions and ensure proper documentation and filing of invoices and supporting documents.
Ensure that payments to local and foreign vendors are made on time by employing effective monitoring procedures.
Reconcile accounts payable balances with vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
Maintain accounts payable subledgers and investigate any long outstanding bills if any.
Perform bank reconciliation.
Assist in monthly closing and financial analysis as required.
Ensure the accuracy of the financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.
Process and prepare tax forms as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

At least 3 to 5 years of related professional experience in Accounts Payables invoice processing, preferably in an ERP environment.
Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles and basic Philippine tax laws.
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.
Proficient in MS Word & Excel.
Good communication skills.

Educational/Certification Requirements:

Bachelor ́s Degree, preferably in Business, Accounting, or Finance.

Experience Requirement:

Work experience as AP Accountant for 3 to 5 years
