Ngohiong Express is a Cebu based home grown fast-food chain that serves a locally popular chinese-cebuano vian of Ngohiong. Ngohiong is a variation of the more popular spring roll but made of vegetable particularly turnips, spices, and coconut heart ( “ubod” ). It is served with spicy hot sauce or a combination of spicy and soy sauce.

The food business started out as food van type of business last January 10, 2001 along Jakosalem corner Manalili Street. (back of what used to be Rositas Colon and what is now Philippine Star Office Building ). NBA basketball was very popular back then and the owner Adrian Lee named the first branch as N.B.A. fast-food – which stands for Ngohiong Bola-Bola Atbp. Ngohiong Express was the second business name which was supposed to be the product name for the Ngohiong it was serving. The business concept turned out to be successful. With a second branch opening on the second month at Gothong Property near Chong Hua hospital, and a third branch on the AZNAR property across Southwestern University two months after the second branch.

Through the years, the fast-food chain has evolved to become a food cart or food van type to a full sit-in 24 hours fast-food restaurant creating its own following among the students and working class of Cebu. 12 years in operation before franchising outside the family circle Even on its first few years of operation, the company has had plentiful inquiries for Franchising. Mr. Lee believed that he does not want to offer anything to anyone half baked. Unlike his products which can be sold half-cook, he believed offering the business model at its infancy stage was not right and also a way of short changing the possible franchisees. After years of preparation and 25 branches after, the company has realized that the time has come to share the business.
