REQUIREMENTS

As a Network Specialist,

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of Smartsourcing’s computer networks. You will organize, supervise, and oversee the installation and support of our computer network, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other data communication systems.

Some of the things we’d expect you to do are to…

• Determine solutions to any problems and issues that are preventing the fibre optic systems from performing optimally.

• Determine what the organization needs in a network and computer system before building it out.

• Manage installation of all network hardware and software, as well as necessary systems upgrades and repairs.

• Help maintain network and computer system security and ensure that all systems operate correctly.

• Collect and analyze data to evaluate network/systems performance and help make the system work better, faster, and with greater accuracy; identify and implement system improvements where needed.

• Solve problems quickly when a user or an automated monitoring system lets them know about a problem.

• Manage configuration and installation of network hardware and software, as well as network repairs and upgrades.

• Collect network data for evaluation, with an eye to continual improvement.

We would need you to be or have the following…

• Technically proficient with Fortinet Security Fabric using Forti Suite product solutions, and Network Security Practices.

• Considerable knowledge of design and construction practice for AE and GPON fibre optic networks.

• 2+ years of experience as a network administrator (troubleshooter) is also required.

• Certification Fortinet NSE4 is required, and Computer Network Certification (ex. CompTIA Network+, Cisco, and Microsoft) is desirable.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering, or a related discipline is required.
