Position Summary


The Merchandising Manager is responsible for managing existing products and services, as well as creating and integrating new products.


Oversee product line heads in developing concepts, techniques, and visual merchandising plans. Take the lead in product material sourcing/pricing, product marketing support, visual merchandising plans, and store launching.


Key Responsibilities 

  • Conduct margin analysis, industry/market research and in-life performance measurement to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability.

  • Develop assortment plans that support overall strategy for key merchandise categories and classifications, items, and vendors.

  • Collates product catalogs for all lines.

  • Oversee product line head in coming up with product concept, plans for the season (summer, post-summer, Sinulog, etc)

  • Oversee product line head in the development of new products - packaging labels, hangtags, how it will be displayed/highlighted, marketing support, and the like

  • Determine product range to be offered to the market, consistent with the company value proposition

  • Provide quality control over product concepts.

  • Analyze sales figures, customers reactions and market trends to anticipate product needs

  • Build strategic relationships with suppliers and maintains a competitive advantage on negotiations.

  • Develop and monitor the implementation of display and merchandising plans.

  • Plan and implement product launch of all products developed

  • Oversee the testing of the chosen design.

  • Manage in-line performance: sales, margin, product analysis, and sales off take

  • Coordinate and build strong working relations with other Companies’ sales, marketing, production, design team and operations.

  • Work closely with store design and visual merchandising.

  • Assess the needs of individual stores and how they might differ based on factors such as store size and demographics

  • Lead regularly-scheduled meetings centered on product update and operational requirements for new product developments/changes.

  • Manage all product development projects, from  launches through implementation

  • Attend trade shows/fairs.

  • Come up with Merchandising calendar

  • Train, motivate and develop team through coaching and mentoring


  • Preferably a graduate of Marketing, Business Admin, Fine Arts, Fashion Design or other related courses

  • Creative with an eye for shape and color

  • Understand technology, production methods and materials

  • Strong analytical and planning skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and commercial awareness

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Good communication and presentation skills
