Job Description:


The employee relations officer works at both a strategic and operational level to manage personnel policies that affect people at work. They are advisors to both the management and the employees on specific areas of employment law, negotiates employee disputes, and ensure the wider workforce is aware of company policies and procedures.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and/or manage the entire disciplinary process.
    Manage the resolution of cases involving termination of employment and conducts a risk-based assessment in such cases.

  • Act as the company representative in the resolution of labor complaints at the Conciliation-Mediation level.

  • Review labor complaints and cases together with the HR Manager and provide recommendations to arrive at the appropriate position.

  • Discuss outcomes of administrative cases and labor complaints with Operations, HR Team, and Upper Management and proposes recommendations to prevent the occurrence of a similar incident in the future.

  • Represent the company in meetings with external legal counsel and other government regulatory authorities in the resolution of cases.

  • Provide counsel on matters of reorganization and restructuring.

  • Address any employment relations issues, such as work complaints and harassment allegations.

  • Assist the progress of job planning and performance management. Assist HR Manager in reviewing and updating all human resources policies to meet the organization’s needs.

  • Recommend changes to existing policies and guidelines based on the latest ER trends and developments within the industry, relevant laws, and the latest jurisprudence.

  • Work with management on engagement issues to create a positive culture in line with the company’s Vision and Values.

  • Spearhead ER-related communications and programs geared towards enhancing the team member experience and creating a positive work environment.

  • Conduct learning sessions for supervisors, managers, and the HR team members on relevant laws and trends in the ER field as necessary.

  • Perform other related duties in relation to human resources as required and assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in employee relations.
    Solid knowledge of Philippine labor laws and regulation, and various ethics and compliance standards.

  • Strong case management experience.

  • Experience in handling disciplinary cases, employee engagement activities, community partnership, and employee services

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to identify, analyze/evaluate, and resolve ER issues and provide consultation to management.

  • Ability to communicate, establish working relationships, work out solutions, and settlements to disputes.

  • Listening, negotiation, and analytical skills are necessary for coaching and counseling managers and employees.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levels.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
