Incorporated in November 28, 1990, Southpole Corporation, is a family-owned company, a conglomerate of various divisions and segments, both in product and service industries. The company offers oil and gas products, exclusive dealer of food and beverages, as well as engaged into services such as business and consumer financing, convenience stores, pawnshops, ticketing agency and pension house services.

 

Since its establishment 25 years ago, Southpole has become the leading distributor of oil and gas products and beverages in Bongao, Siargao and Zamboanga City. In addition, we are the top financing institution in Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, Zambonaga City, and Ipil, Sibugay for the past five years. The company expanded its financing and pension house operations in Cebu in June 2015, as well as the construction of the new additional segment, the Southpole Central Hotel under a newly form corporation, Southpole Land Development Corporation.

 

Southpole Central Hotel,  the newest business hotel in the city, is scheduled to soft-open this October 2015. With 95 guestrooms and suites and meeting venues to accommodate the growing demand for both leisure and business travelers in Cebu City.

 

ACCOUNTING OFFICER

 

Qualifications:

  • A graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy

  • Minimum of three years' work experience in the field of accounting, audit, regulatory compliance and financial reporting to management

  • Excellent in leadership, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, honest and goal driven

  • Proficient with accounting softwares

  • Providing regular updates to management regarding company finances

  • Monitor every aspect of company's accounting function

  • Preferably with experience and knowledgeable in accounting works, taxation and compliance requirement to government agencies is an advantage (BIR, SEC, LGU Permits)

  • Can work with less supervision; detailed-oriented; willing to learn

  • Flexible to work-related task and responsibilities

  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

  • Meet financial accounting objectives

  • Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

  • Review and monitor all aspects of accounting (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, General Ledger Entries, Bank Reconciliation, credit card expense report reconciliation, cash applications and collections).

  • Makes recommendations, develops policies and procedures and participates in development and implementation of accounting systems and internal control systems.

  • Review taxes paid for compensation, expanded, final tax, vat, percentage and income taxes and ensure timely submission of governmental compliance.

  • Check and analyze the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, bank reports and various detailed analysis reports.
