OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH COMPANY NURSE

Job Scope 

• Provide basic healthcare services to the company's employees

• Provide prompt and adequate first-aid or emergency treatments in case of injury and/or sickness and, when necessary, bring employees to the nearby hospital

• Responsible for developing and implementing Health and Safety Programs, Assessing health risks, in addition to the prevention and treatment of resultant illness or injury

• Promote good health among employees by assessing them at regular intervals, Keeping health records for every employee, and maintaining good communication with company management regarding healthcare and safety

• Dispense medicines to employees & ensure proper administration

• Provide monthly report on medicines dispensed

• Give recommendations of medicines and medical supplies to be purchased for replenishment

• Prepare Purchase Requisition Form for procurement of medicines and medical supplies

• Maintain health records of the employees and monitor those with known and established medical conditions through regular check-ups and counseling at least once (1) a month

• Assist in the preparation of endorsement letters for pre-employment requirements of newly hired employees, reimbursement of pre-employment examination fees, and on matters relating to the health care provider of employees

Competency Requirements:

• Must be a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, must pass the Nursing Board examination

• Must have taken the Post Graduate Course for Basic Occupational Health & Safety for Nurses (under OHNAP Inc.)

• Must have attended at least three (3) Conventions with OHNAP within five (5) years of Active Membership

• To ensure success, the OHN should possess excellent knowledge and skill in emergency healthcare-related issues in the workplace. They should also assess the work environment to identify any work hazards and plan intervention programs accordingly
