Eleison Foundation seeks to hire a Program Coordinator to facilitate the Barug and Bansay savings and financial literacy programs for survivors of human trafficking and gender-based violence and their family members. Barug is a 2-year financial literacy and matched savings intervention that fosters the financial stability of survivors through financial education, asset development, and support group meetings. Bansay is an abbreviated one-day financial literacy training that introduces survivors to fundamental financial management concepts in preparation for participation in Barug. Eleison Foundation is a private operating foundation that supports survivors of violence and exploitation in their recovery. Eleison is registered in the United States, with a representative office in Cebu. Eleison adopts an integrated approach with three core interconnected areas of activity: direct services for survivors, capacity building, and research.
  • Facilitate financial literacy training for survivors and their family members using Eleison’s established curriculum;
  • Oversee curriculum revision and documentation of lessons learned throughout the process of implementing programming;
  • Conduct individual and group support sessions with participants to support them in achieving their financial goals and overcome challenges encountered in the program;
  • Support program participants in making their own informed decisions of how to allocate their savings accrued during the program;
  • Coordinate with program participants regarding the use of their matched savings;
  • Manage recruitment for new program enrollees, developing new partnerships and referral mechanisms with other service providers;
  • Mentor Barug/Bansay peer facilitator;
  • Support monitoring and evaluation research regarding the Barug and Bansay programs;
  • Conduct crisis intervention with program participants as needed and as crises arise;
  • Participate in Eleison’s crisis on-call system;
  • Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline such as Social Work/Psychology (Master’s degree preferred);
  • Two years of experience working with populations who have experienced complex trauma and marginalization, preferably survivors of human trafficking and/or gender-based violence;
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong willingness to learn and undergo training, particularly in Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed approaches;
  • Commitment to core values of the social work profession including social justice, service, dignity and worth of each person, importance of human relationships, integrity and competence
  • Dedication to following empowerment-based and trauma-informed approaches;
  • Strong training and group facilitation skills;
  • Project management skills: high level of attention to detail; excellent management and organizational skills; ability to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines;
  • Bilingual in Cebuano and English;
  • Capacity to work in a cross-cultural team context in an international organization;
  • Interest in and ability to work part-time with a flexible work schedule.
