Solid Ground International is a non-profit organization dedicated to the help, assistance, and healing of trauma survivors through the maintenance of transitional housing.  We are seeking a Registered Social Worker to assist with our transitional housing project in Cebu, Philippines. 
 
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Complete all necessary procedures and documents during the intake, discharge, and reintegration of each resident
  • Coordinate with partner agencies, educational institutions, health care providers, and employers concerning any issues that arise and plan for solutions with the resident
  • Cooperate with partner organizations to develop and implement care strategies to ensure each resident receives the necessary assistance in the continued healing of past trauma and the establishment of independent living
  • Establish, maintain, and update case management files for each resident on a regular basis
  • Complete regular reportorial requirements as established by the Director and Board of Directors
  • Assist in the teaching, implementation, and monitoring of life skills curriculum 
  • Assist the residents in finding stable housing
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partner organizations, and government units
  • Comply with DSWD requirements regarding meetings, trainings, licensing, and accreditation
  • Cooperate with SGI staff in implementing proper intervention strategies to assist residents in their growth
  • Comply with all requirements set forth by the Philippine Regulation Commission to maintain a Social Worker License
  • Assist Program Coordinator on ad hoc program management tasks
Qualifications
  • College degree in Social Work, BSW or MSW, from an accredited university
  • Licensed by the Philippine Professional Regulation Commission
  • At least two years relevant social work experience, especially in working with survivors of trauma 
  • Ability to apply social work theory and casework skills and to collaborate with a team to implement interventions
  • Ability to effectively interview and assess residents in order to develop and implement treatment plans for residents 
  • Excellence in oral and written communication in English and Cebuano (with fluency in oral and written Tagalog also preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with women and children from diverse backgrounds
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Mature Christian faith
  • Integrity and honesty
  • Emotional maturity and initiative
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to establish rapport with SGI personnel, residents, and partner agencies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Passion for helping people who have suffered injustice
