CHIEF SALES OFFICER
 
The Chief Sales Officer is a high-level executive, he is in charge of the management of the entire sales department, overseeing all sales-related activities. The Chief Sales Officer answers directly to the CEO and business stakeholders. He provides leadership, direction, and resources to the sales department and is accountable for the overall sales department performance, the achievement of sales department goals and targets, and the alignment of business strategy.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Budgeting: Chief Sales Officer is responsible for the calculation of the sales plan and budget of the sales department.
  • Process: CSO sets the work system for subordinates, is responsible for implementation and execution.
  • Targets and incentives schemes: CSO establish business indicators and quotas for the sales team,
  • Supervisory/Leadership Role: The leadership role of the CSO is his most prominent responsibility. The CSO provides leadership and strategic direction to the business' overall sales program, inclusive of securing new consumers and expanding opportunities within the current consumer base.
  • Leads and manages all activities within the sales department set departmental KPIs and evaluates the effectiveness of sales initiatives, making appropriate changes that encourage achievement of overall sales and business targets.
  • Strategy: The CSO is responsible for the projection and implementation of new business solutions based on Board decisions.
  • Collaboration: The CSO collaborates with the other departments
  • The CSO also takes initiative to mentor key personnel in the sales department, ensuring their constant professional growth, and assisting in the execution of their duties where necessary.
  • Reporting: meets the deadlines set for sending the required reports
  • Fieldwork – regular regional visits to control processes, solve problems and also support local managers.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
  • Bachelor‘s Degree / MBA or Post Graduate Studies is a plus /
  • At least 5 years of experience handling the same function in a financial institution.
  • Ability to effectively supervise team members and work as a member of that team and organize and facilitate work activities for other members of the team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Creative thinking with initiatives and self-motivation.
  • Coaching/mentoring skills and issue management problem-solving skill are well demonstrated.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
