DGX Global is searching for a knowledgeable, motivated, and personable individual to join the Logistics Team as a Freight Forwarding Supervisor. This role will be based in our Lapu Lapu, Cebu office. This is a working Supervisory position. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of the Philippines

As the Branch Manager, you will provide leadership for our ocean freight Air freight forwarding products. You will be the functional lead for strategic development within the overall market, as well as the product champion for ocean and airfreight. What you’ll do on a typical [email protected] Cebu:
  • Direct and handle all ocean freight booking and documentation for, FCL, LCL, and air freight forwarding services in the branch
  • Organizes, and handles the day-to-day work of Export-Import documentation and quotes
  • Supervises Customer Service and Operations in the forwarding area both Import and Export abd CB
  • Ensures handling of required Export-Import documents according to regulations and internal procedures
  • Follows-up shipment status in the Export-Import area and during transport; identifies incidents and ensures resolution of incidents occur
  • Handles Operations and Customer Service in the incident and exception management resolution
  • Creates, builds and maintains excellent relationships with key suppliers, internal and external customers
  • Continuously monitors supplier (internal and external) performance and develops improvement plan when required
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled functional branch office
  • Creates, builds and maintains relationships with other internal functions (e.g. OCC, Sales, OPS) and acts as a subject matter expert for ad hoc operational questions with regards to accounts which are being serviced
  • Ensures that proper implementation of customer has been conducted and collaborates with all Products to ensure successful customer launch
  • Outside errands when called upon
  • Interacts with Manila office when needed
Skills / Requirements:
  • Experience with Freight Forwarding. Airfreight  Ocean Freight/Import-Export documentation and quotes
  • Supervisory/leadership experience preferred
  • Dangerous Goods certification a plus
  • Experience with CargoWise software a plus
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Very strong analytical and decision making skills
  • BA/BS preferred
  • Meet or exceed established business and profit growth targets; remain accountable for product P&L at the branch level
  • Establish and ensure operational implementation and compliance with processes and procedures for handling the ocean and air freight product
  • Maintain strategic relationships with appropriate ocean carriers and negotiate contracts, including pricing and service standards; manage the vendor (carrier) base to ensure strategic compliance with pacer goals and objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Enhance and grow new business opportunities with established customers; develop new customers in the market with sales calls when required
  • Develop and implement new product and service offerings to meet customer needs in alignment with their goals and objectives
  • Work with staff members to ensure individual and branch KPIs are met
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, manage, lead and communicate effectively with team members and Managing Director
