Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for flawless deployment and ongoing support of all Packet’s network infrastructure including Core and Edge routers, Firewalls, Load-balancers, Switches, DWDM systems, and any other related network appliance
Provide network support to Sales, Customer Engagement, and Cloud Operations team for customer related issues on both pre and post sales. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues as they arise
Data Center planning, setup, and expansion
Maintain and improve Packet’s network monitoring platform such as:
- Observium
- Catchpoint
- Grafana
Ability to work closely with external and internal (Customers/Partners) DevOps organization in implementation and troubleshooting scenarios

Secondary Responsibilities:

Provide and work with Documentation team for procedures, workflow and how to’s
Participate on Data Center (on-site) build on Packet’s APAC locations, when needed

Requirements:

Five (5) or more years of experience on large scale service provider networks. Cloud (or server) Hosting Experience is a plus
Packet is a Juniper shop. Any experience with Juniper hardware (QFX, MX and EX series) is a great advantage
JNCIE and/or JNCP is nice to have
Working knowledge of network protocols/technologies: BGP, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, IPv4/6, MST/PVST, VxLAN and other LAN/WAN technologies
Working knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) theory and practical implementation
Familiarity with Linux and DevOps tools (i.e. Ansible) is a plus
Strong organization and time management skills
Impeccable verbal and communication skills
Strong understanding with Customer Service is a must
Must be self-motivated and disciplined
Able to adapt with Packet's Core Values (see below).
Willing to work on a holiday and rotational shift.
