We are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee management of kitchen, laundry, and kitchen staff, as well as all building-related activities of an ESL School. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of equipment, accommodations, classrooms, and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning.
The ideal candidate will be able to optimize the use of equipment while reducing operating costs, as well as ensure confidentiality of the operation and supervise all facilities. The goal is to ensure our business’s accommodation is problem-free and safe so that employees can work under the best conditions.
Reports directly to the CEO and Administrative Officer
Coordinate system repairs and monitor system performance
Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary
Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet the daily needs of the operations
Coordinates with the kitchen manager, student manager, and purchasing officer in the ordering, purchasing, and inventory of supplies.
Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs
Supervise all staff facilities staff (housekeepers, technicians, kitchen staff, laundry staff, etc.) and external contractors
Control activities like waste disposal, building security, parking. etc.
Identify opportunities, workarounds, and contingency plans to keep operations going according to management instructions
Perform analysis and forecasting of supply including but limited to water, food, electricity, etc.
Focus on goals and a vision of the company by making a positive impact in the working relationship of staff and management
At least 1 year experience as a facilities manager or relevant position;
A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent;
Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Knowledge of basic accounting and finance principles
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Good analytical/critical thinking
Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and technical systems;
Relevant supervisory/management stills is an advantage
