ACCOUNTANT

JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the company. Their main duties include preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring cash flow, preparing tax returns, reviewing interbranch transactions, and setting up internal controls to safeguard the company's resources. The Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the financial stability and success of the company by providing accurate financial information and guidance to management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparing financial statements: This involves creating reports that provide an overview of the company's financial performance, including its income, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

2. Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable: This involves tracking and processing invoices, managing vendor and customer accounts, and ensuring that payments are made and received on time.

3. Maintaining accurate financial records: This involves keeping detailed records of all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

4. Monitoring cash flow: This involves tracking the company's cash flow to ensure enough money is available to cover expenses and invest in growth opportunities.

5. Preparing tax returns involves calculating the company's tax liability and filing accurate tax returns with the appropriate government agencies.

6. Reviewing interbranch transactions and reconciliations: This involves ensuring that interbranch transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled on a timely basis.

7. Setting up internal controls involves establishing internal controls to safeguard the company's resources and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

8. Analyzing financial data: This involves reviewing financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks to the company's financial health.

9. Preparing budgets: This involves developing and managing budgets to ensure the company meets its financial goals and objectives.

10. Providing financial reports to management involves presenting financial information to senior management and other stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and planning.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics.

2. Certification: An advantage but not necessary.

3. Experience: Relevant work experience in accounting or finance.

4. Knowledge of Accounting Principles & Practices: Have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and tax laws.

5. Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented and able to accurately record and analyze financial data.

6. Analytical Skills: Must be able to analyze financial data and identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.

7. Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate financial information to stakeholders clearly and concisely.

8. Technology Skills: Should be comfortable using accounting software and other financial technology tools.

9. Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and meet deadlines.

10. Knowledge of Internal Controls: To safeguard the company's resources and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, you must have knowledge of setting up internal controls.
