Company Profile

Passerelles numériques (PN), a nonprofit organisation, is dedicated to enabling highly disadvantaged youths, through their abilities and their commitment, to access education and technical and vocational training, in the sector of Information Technology. We work to build strong employability which will allow them and their families to sustainably escape poverty, and contribute to the social and economic development of their countries.

Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 533 students and aims to train 750 in the next three years. PN employs 102 people based in these three countries including a small team in France.

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, EconocomOsiatis, CA Technologies, Microsoft and Société Générale and also receives support from individual donors.

In the Philippines, Passerelles numériques started its mission in 2009, with a training centre based in Cebu, in the central region of the Visayas. In 2012, the first class graduated with 24 students, all of them securing employment upon graduation. Today, PN Philippines (PNP) trains 214 students and has supported 192 disadvantaged youths to graduate.

In 2015, PNP and the partner school, University of San Carlos implemented a new Pilot Training. The highlights of this training are the implementation of new teaching methodologies, and pedagogy techniques, and the reduction of the students, having instead 49 students in total (at least 50% of which are girls).

PN Philippines scholars have been studying about the Basics of Programming, Networking, Computer Science and Mechatronics as major subjects for the past months under the new pedagogic methods of the Pilot Training. They will undergo more advanced subjects in their coming semester on June 2016 and in between will have a Summer Training. To help bridge the subjects, PN Philippines is designing supplemental trainings for the students, with each training being held within one to three weeks.
